A Partnership to Deliver Weekly Workshops

THE CLIENT

MakeWay is a dynamic non-profit organization leading the charge on social innovation across Canada.

One of the ways they serve their projects is by offering professional development resources and tools that people can access when they need to level up their own skills.

PROJECT SCOPE

The Group Forward partnered with MakeWay to design and deliver Workshop Wednesdays, meaningful leadership development learning experiences for non-profit workers to grow and shape their organizations.

Workshop Wednesday’s Included

  • Relevant content, non-profit works need to be successful in their work, right now.

  • Responsive workshop facilitation based on the context and needs of the participants who signed up for the workshops

  • Try to apply this mentality: We know learners can watch a TED Talk or Google answers on their own time. But if they show up for intentional learning opportunities, we can make it customized, and we can offer practical tips for how to apply those tools to their specific context.

The Leadership Development Workshops we ran included:

  1. Feedback Skills - How to have difficult conversations

  2. Strategic Communication Skills - Active listening

  3. Better Meetings - Meeting Design & Facilitation Skills

  4. Being Brief - Learn to have a bigger impact by saying less and writing for busy readers

  5. Build Trust or Bust - How to build it and fix it when it’s broken

  6. Effective One-on-ones - What are they & how to run them well

  7. Working Agreements - How to Work Together

  8. Managing Conflict - Tools to navigate conflict productively

  9. Leading Change - Change management roadmap

  10. Adaptive Learning Organizations - How to run retrospectives

“I've had the pleasure of attending three Workshop Wednesday sessions, and I can confidently say each 90-minute session is time well spent. The topics are thoughtfully curated to provide practical knowledge and tools that are immediately applicable to everyday situations. Hannah is an exceptional facilitator and coach, adept at tailoring the sessions to meet the unique needs and interests of participants. Each session leaves me feeling empowered and ready to implement new strategies and techniques in my work.”
